So music "could be" God working through us using himself as the medium to communicate with people who would otherwise COMPLETELY disagree...
I'll go with that, David Donald!

And, Arch, I'll agree with you that the never-showed-up-for-SS-and-got-to-go-on-the-trip phenomenon was a travesty!

Rick

I would add that I think there are are people who have a natural sensitivity to things of the Spirit, while others don't... or at least it's much harder for them to "perceive" God. I once spoke with a young woman in one of my churches... and she had attended church her entire life... who said that she had never sensed the presence of God in any way. She believed in Christ with her head, but she had no heart-experience and little emotional connection to Him.

I sense His presence constantly; I'm nearly always acutely aware that He is here with me... and in those rare times when I don't sense His nearness, I simply believe. The Lord has moved in some incredible ways in my life- things have happened to/for me that are simply unexplainable by coincidence (would you like a list?)... and all the way, I have been as certain that He was there as I am that I'm typing this message now! I'm so certain of it that I've placed my life in His hands. This is what has happened to me!
[This message was edited by Rick McDuffie on 22 September 2004 at 05:22 PM.]

This topic has drifted from its original statement, which was about religious music. Archie, we'll close it if you agree that your topic has been thoroughly explored. What say ye?

ebb, WHAT DOES THAT COMMENT MEAN???? If you're implying that they're more Christians here in my beloved South, what poll did you take?? And if you're saying they're more atheists up North, again, have you been getting your info from Dan Rather???

And where is your real name, as called for in the Forum rules????
[This message was edited by Stephen Gambrell on 24 September 2004 at 01:38 PM.]
