What an honor it was to have Jeff ask me to sing at this years Non Pedal Session at the Texas Steel Show.

It was truly a real honor to have not 1, not 2, but 3 major Non Pedal Players with me on the stage too, Scotty, Chuck Lettes, and Herb Remmington.

I don't know about you, but I had this feeling the whole time Rick was up there looking down, and just loving what he was hearing out of all the players.

This was an awesome show, with some major players coming out and paying there respects to the man that started this show within the show, my friend Rick Alexander.

WE MISSED YA RICK!!

The fifth anniversary of Rick's death seems to have gone unnoticed. He was a great guy, and I miss our correspondence.

I had become acquainted with Rick only a short time prior to his untimely passing.

At that time, I got to know him quite well and I did indeed consider him to be one of my best and closest friends.

I too, miss this wonderful person, very much.

Just this last week I was going through some of Roy's steel guitar things. I found the flat bar that Rick sent our granddaughter Katelyn when Roy was teaching her how to play steel guitar. He was so kind and encouraging to Katelyn. When Katelyn saw it she remembered and put it in her space in her room that is in memory of her "Pop Pop" along with his steel bar and picks. This family will always remember Rick. I can't believe it's been that long either. I pray his family has been able to move on. That's not an easy thing to do without your loved on either.

More memories.... Laurie
