Candace is a trained chef (very lucky me!), and her pumpkin and banana breads are amazing: delicious, moist, but extremely low in oil and sugar, so it's not too unhealthy.
Glad you're enjoying the loaf, Tim.
If anyone wants to trade something for homemade goodies, let me know! I'd be interested in ZumSteels, digital delays, pre-amps, whatever.

Internal is enough for me, but I'm just a minimalist and don't need much...James Quackenbush wrote:Tonu,
Do you have an external hard drive hooked up to your iMac or do you just use the internal unit ? ....Thanks, Jim

Floating this up for more current feedback, reviews, info, ideas... I still haven't bought anything, no time yet for that recording project research and learning curve!

Presonus gear and their Studio One DAW is the best I've used. It's very powerful and yet simple to use. It comes with tons of effects, loops, and MIDI instruments, and can do everything from start to mastering the project and burning to CD or MP3, etc... It runs very well on Mac. Good tech support from Personus and user forums. It's fairly new (about one year) so you won't hear as much about it as the ones that have been around for years, but everyone I know that made the switch hasn't looked back. Mix Magazine just did a very positive review on it. http://mixonline.com/gear/reviews/preso ... ro_review/
There's also a good review in the August Recording Magazine, but it doesn't seem to be available online yet.
You can get a free demo on the http://www.presonus.com

Re:recording with Logic
John,
I have started doing recording with Logic Express, and I have found that using a Mackie 1640 Onyx with the FireWire card really does a good job of multitrack recording. I am also using a Mac Mini with 2gigs of memory, and I can do 16 tracks of audio and instruments simultaneously and only use 1 gig of the available memory. Those boards are starting to drop in price due to the new 1640i on the market
