I am a lifelong catholic, and none of the priests I know would have any objection to steel guitar in a mass, and I have possed the question. What could be more wonderfull than The Old Rugged Cross on steel? Hell'who could object to that?No priest I know, and the Jesuits had to deal with me in high school, and 28 years later some are still damn good friends!

In Holland it's just the other way round, the Catholic church is far more progressive then the Protestant and Reformed Churches. Since I was 12 years old, now I'm 45, I played the electric guitar in a combo with a choir. I did that till I was 18. It still happens, still not in the other churches. However, a lot of youngsters go to meetings in Stadiums and halls, to sing, organised by reformed churches. As long as it's not in the building...I know a lot of churches in the Protestant faith just use organ and/or piano, similar to the Catholic church. The nondenominational Protestant church my family attends has a full modern combo up front with drums, bass, piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harp, and assorted vocalists.

Bill Fall--You are in the right religion and so are millions of other people.
Kyle--Say what?! That's the Catholic way!? We have the same Ten Commandments and no one has to tell me what is right or wrong. I guess I will have to add one condition for the Ultimate Forum--#11--Thou shalt not be Catholic. Sorry, bOb for going off topic. Joe
