Is the Doubletree Hilton the best place for overflow, or are there more cost effective alternative close by? Looking to go, but on a budget!

Hard to believe it has been 35 years. Charlie Norris called me to play the show. I was the first player on the first show. Makes me feel old. I think the Texas Show has grown to be the largest Steel Show now.

Doubletree Hilton is a very nice place and has shuttles going back and forth (both owned by same folks) .

Cost

Post by Allen Howington »

Maybe I'm missing it, but what is the cost per person without attending any seminars? My wife and I are coming to enjoy the stage segments of each player, visit the vendor, etc. The flyer on the first post doesn't tell you the cost, unless like I said, I just missed it. Thanks to anyone that can tell me.

Looking forward,

Hi Allen, the info is at this link: http://www.texassteelguitar.org/register.html

As I read it, a pass for all three days is 70 bucks at the door, and (for non-TSGA members) 65 bucks in advance (available until the end of February). And you can buy passes for single days if that suits you better.

Allen, there’ll be so much going on especially Friday & Saturday, that you will have trouble deciding which room you oughta be in. Main stage performances, jams in the manufacturers rooms, non pedal sessions, Buddy’s jam in the bar, good folks to visit with everywhere. Have fun.

Is there a schedule posted anywhere yet? I looked around and didn’t find it, but maybe I just missed it.
If something I wrote can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, I meant the other one.

Looking forward to this! Only going to make it Saturday night and Sunday...hoping there'll be some fun stuff for beginners (been playing a little over a year) on those days.

Hey Buddy,
Count me in on the jam. I will definitely be there for a portion of that! Thanks for doing it!
