Great discussion but from where I set if they are not 100% country they don't belong in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
That does'nt mean I have a problem with mixing up their music styles because I like them all, but having one or two country hits
to me should not give them access to the Hall
of Fame.
True the Everly brothers grew up country and their father was country, but would they be nominated for that reason if they had recorded acid rock or rap????..

Why is there never any mention of Porter
Wagoner in connection with the Hall of Fame?
His weekly TV show was a real pioneer move
and provided a showcase for many country music entertainers. I saw him leaving the
Ryman following the memorial service for Chet. He looks great and always makes a good
appearance wherever he is seen - a credit to
the country music world I think.

Being inducted into the Hall of Fame used to be a great compliment to anyone inducted. Now days, it looks more like they just want to "scoop up" as many as they can and induct them. That's demeaning, in my opinion. However, there are certainly many artist who "deservingly" should be inducted. It should be "something special" and not some kind of "class action!"
