Laurie and I met in '66, and got married 3 years later. 32 years later, we're still going strong.

She's not only beautiful, intelligent, and genuinely nice, she's also rich. How lucky can a guy get?

I once saw a sign that said:- I've got the best wife in town. Underneath in scrawl someone had written:- "I know, I've had her too"
Seriously though, the second time around is better - for me anyway, it's been been 18 years this time. First time was for 15 years, she just didn't like steel guitar.

Bob Mainwaring.Z.Bs.and other weird things.

Hi Pat Burn. No it is not a lap steel, but a famous HWP Mullen D-10, 8 + 4. Bobby Seymour, thanks for the positive comments. I need all the encouragement I can get. By the way my wife is from Oklahoma if that makes a difference. I,m from Minnesota and I know that makes a difference, because I live in the Willamtte Valley in Oregon and don't have suffer with the snow and cold anymore, just the rain, moss, and web feet.
Steel music is beautiful.

Once, for (counts) 17 years in April.

Heck, she was even my high-school sweetheart. This is at her senior prom in 1980.

Hmmm, I was 2 days shy of being 16. Boy do I feel old now.

Ya know, a steeler might even be able to get Elizabeth Taylor now,___if you don't mind the high mileage. I understand it's not quite like getting a vintage steel guitar.

Married once, it will be 28 years next Friday. We have two grown kids and a Grandaughter 1 1/2 years old, who lives with us. I don't remember much about when my kids were that age, 80 hour work weeks and travelling all over the world took away most of my time with them. You younger guys spend time with your kids, they grow up much too quick. My wife is very tolerant of me and my 45 guitars.

I'm 36, never been married.
After watching all my friends, I've decided not to. It seems like a waste of time. I'm just going to find some woman I hate, and give her my house.

One wife is too many! Come April 19 we will have been married 23 years.
By the way I love to play beautiful music on the steel guitar. It is one of the most satisfying things after sex there is.
Immediately following sex, my wife turns into a 12 pack and 2 of my best friends. What a wife!

I've been married once. On 18 May we will celebrate our 50th anniversary. Image

It will only be 29 years, but we want to celebrate the 50th while we're young enough to enjoy it. Image Image

Just one. Jan 17th was 32 years. The key, for musicians, is to marry a musician. My wife sings, plays bass, rhythm guitar and a little keyboards.

OK...been married to same Lady since 1964...I taught her guitar.....she wanted me to learn steel....so I made one.....she found add for S/H pedal steel and got me to buy it.....when I sent for new Emmons...she went to depot and got it as a suprise...used to go with the band whenever she could and I would get her up to sing........then she learned bass and we had our own band for 20 years...daughter used to get up and sing or play drums from age of five.....other daughter sang too.
I dont think anyone could claim the musical support that I have had....
Aw there is more...but that will do

Just once, going on 24 years ago; 2 kids, 19 and 21.

You'd think by now she'd like beer, football and country music. My skin must be polyurethane because I haven't rubbed off on her at all.

I got married in '83 while I was a full-time musician. In '84 I decided to hang-up music for a full-time "regular job", thinking that would be the best guarantee of a good, stable marriage, homelife, etc. Everything went to ****. We got along better when I was "a flake musician" than a "yuppie" TV-station Director/editor. I divorced her in '87 and was in no hurry to get involved again anytime soon. In '98 I met the most fantastic girl and we got married August '99. We get along great, she loves my music and is 100% behind everything I do but speaks up when she has something to say. You single guys, the right one's out there, be patient! Don't be messed up with the wrong one when the right one comes along. OK, off my soapbox now, but I said it and I'm glad! Image
