Any Ideas For Band Name ?

You guys are cracking me up with some of these names(better be careful, Bob may move this topic over to humor section of the forum)keep em comming,the new guys are comming over to try out tommorow and we may kick these and some other names around and see what comes up......how about Cindy and the new guys in the band....just kidding

Gary,
My cousin who plays in a band up here in Calgary, Alberta. Named his band "FIVE WIRE FENCE". I'm not sure if they still play together so it is not really my name to give out but with you in texas I doubt you would ever cross paths. The name was unique because they had 5 members in the band and believe it or not a five wire fence is not that common(usually 4 or 6 wire, or so I have been told) so it was unique to say the least. They also had a female vocalist in the band.
I guess the idea is to find something that is a reflection of the band itself. Anyways good luck with the name pickin'.

Seriously, the kind of music isn't the only thing your name should convey. What kind of gigs are you planning to do? Bar bands have different kinds of names from wedding bands. Bands that play original material can go further out on a limb with their name (like Dave Zirbel's "Trailer Park Rangers").

Who fronts the band? If this person has career aspirations, why do you need a name? Band names take away from the "star" (IMO). And I only say this because every name known to man has been used. This is why this is so difficult for you to choose, so you come on here for suggestions, and about half of them are tounge in cheek, and the other are pretty good names, but there's probably one "Stetson, 180 proof,etc" in every town. BTW, there's already a "Can't Hardly Playboys" too. I understand most side men in a band feel more involved if it is a band name. However, the public can connect more to an individual artist name than a band name. (IMHO)

Chris I understand where your comming from and appreciate any input,at this point there are no "stars"in the band. Cindy and I share he vocal load 50/50% for lack of a vocalist,we both come from a background of being supporting musicians and have a common ideas about a band working together as a team.Basicly we just out to play some good music,have fun,make a little money to support our"string and equiptment habit" You are quite right about names being done to death......"Country this" and" such and such Country " that was my reasoning for this post was to perhaps find a name that might create some interest around here. PS thanks to all that have contributed names,we still have not made up our mind which to use...keep em comming.....
