Ron, I believe the club Waylon Jennings worked at may have been Green Gables here in Phoenix.
There was another club that burned down years ago that was two stories like Mr. Luckys, but I cannot remember the name of it. It was on the Phoenix/Tempe "riverbottom", and was last open sometime in the 1980's (as I recall)
Another Honky Tonk closes

Hi Jim;
I was going off of the article that i put the link up to today & it says (Quote )
"Those scenes are enough to make a former patron feel bittersweet and a tad long in the tooth when realizing that they're gone forever, just like the late Waylon Jennings, who often performed at Lucky's early in his career".
I never saw Waylon there but i had heard that was where he played often & i guess this article would confirm that..Maybe he worked another club there also but i do not know that..Thanks Ron

I feel pretty "long in the tooth" alright. I also used to play at Graham Central Station when it first opened up and Toolies Country, The Rogues Gallery, Coyote Junction, Characters, Bluegrass Country, Honkeytonk Sue's, Wild Willie's, Cobweb, The Oasis, The Cabover, and a few more clubs here in the Phoenix area ... and all of them are gone!
