Great choice, John.
Of course, I'm biased, becuase that's what I ending up buying.

The instruction manual (downloadable from
www.peavey.com ) has some starting point.
When I get home, I'll send you mine. Maurice Anderson adjusted them for me when I took my first lesson at his house a few weeks ago.
OOPS -- bear in mind, I'm using a Hilton Volume Pedal -- so these settings might not be right for your setup. I'll still post'em, though.

John,
Check out the "pro" player settings at the bottom of Danny Hullihen's article on our website at "
www.peavey.com ". Select the 'search' function and search the website. In Danny Hullihen's review of the Nashville 1000, you will find the settings that Jeff, Lloyd Green, Johnny Cox, Stu Basore, Randy Beavers and Paul Franklin used at the January 2000 jam in Nashville.
These should give you a good starting point.

I guess I changed my mind. I got this one for 630.00 delivered. Bobby made me a deal I couldn't refuse. The amp is around 6 months old, and hardly used. Main thing is, I'm happy!

Hey Bobby. You didn't go and put a horse's head in John's bed, now, did you?

Good deal. I got mine for $625 delivered. So, if we overpaid, we did it together.

Yep, I think we did.
As promised (but way overdue), here's the settings on my N1000.
Low +1.5
Mid -5
Shift 750
High +6
Presence -6
Rev 4
That's quite a bit different than the "starting points" listed, but it's what Reece Anderson set up for me.
Remember, I'm playing with a Hilton pedal, and we were in a pretty small room.
