Hi Folks,
Bob Lucier is here picking up his CD's and would like to take a moment to thank all you all for the kind words. (Paul)

Hi everybody,
I'm thrilled with everyone's kind words & support towards this new project. I'd like to thank all of you guys for your response.
I like the tunes that I've recorded on this CD and the 'Magnum Band' sure made it easy. I thought 'Eleven Favorites' was a good title for this CD.
I hope your response after you hear it is as good as before you heard it!!
Paul Evans has done a Boss Job on this project.
Thanks again,
Bob

This thread seems to be stuck.
I figure if i add a post, it might
unstick. I want to read it.
It worked!!!!!<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Andy Greatrix on 23 March 2002 at 02:28 AM.]</p></FONT>
I had the pleasure of singing background vocals (with the Goodtime Singers) on an Eastwind album (when Bob was the steel player in the group) and he was as Mike Snider would say "slicker than deerguts on a doorknob!" Everything he played just seemed to be exactly what was needed. What a player!

Picked up my copy of this new CD from Paul last night, and all I can say is WOW!! Bob's playing is superb and oft times has you asking yourself "How he do that?"

Paul has put a couple clips from the new CD on Bob's web page. You can have a listen to them here: http://www.ambrec.com/boblucier/ before you order your copy!! Image

I'm sure players everywhere will want to add this latest to their collection! It's a must have!!

I'm now listening to this CD and it is indeed excellent.

What's even better is I just got back from a live performance of Bob Lucier and band. Great tone and touch!

It wasn't Dallas, but it was steel heaven.

Joey:
I figured you'd be too busy with those soundtracks you bought along with the CD to be on the Forum tonight!! Image

Shared this musical afternoon with Joey, and he is right. Wasn't Dallas, but darn good pickin'!!

Every steel player needs to get Bob Luciers' new CD. Yesterday afternoon I had the opportunity to hear it with Scotty (Scooty's Music in St. Louis) in his office. We both commented on Bob's distinct tone and great arrangements on some familiar and new songs. It is so refreshing to hear some very unique licks and arrangements that will keep you going back time and time again to learn the neat 'moves'. Great job Bob! Bill Simmons, Keller, TX

Well I just got my Bob Lucier CD; as Graham Sent me one...."Bless you".. and I got to listen to it twice before I left on this tour I'm on right now.
WOW....I have to mirror just what Bill said....Bob's distictive style and Tone..is just what the doctor ordered. You really don't hear folks play that way(their own true style)when they play cover songs....and then Bob has one song on there Called "Magnum".....that he put together....and what a piece of crafty technique on that cut.....man Bob does it all....I mean; every technique from hammer-ons...to open string work..to large chord voicings to just downright beautiful sounds coming outta a single-10 Fulawka.....You have to have this one...."it inspires the creativity in your ownself" ...when you hear this man play.

I sent a copy of this CD to Lloyd Green in response to a letter and cassette that he sent me back in January and received a very nice reply from him today!
<SMALL>"Please extend to Bob my congratulations on a CD of not only good tunes and outstanding playing, but also one of very interesting originality. I think this will get the attention of the steel guitar community and I wish him every possible success!"</SMALL>
I called Bob tonight and informed him of this and needless to say, he was very moved by Lloyd's words.

Lloyd, if you read this, he thanks you, very much.
