Perfect practice...It’s an old axiom, and unfortunately not as popular as the shortened version. There’s also one that goes something like,â€practice until you can’t play it wrongâ€.
So, what is perfect practice? How do you actually do it? I have a book on it

It helped me immensely to rebuild my guitar technique after an injury. I also transferred the concepts to pedal steel when I started playing 5 years ago. I may not ever play perfectly, but it won’t be because I don’t know how to practice.
One of the points the young lady makes in her Ted Talk is that you have to actually do the disciplined work of perfect practice. I just hope she’s not as nervous at her next public speaking engagement.

It has been my observation that if I am not comfortable playing a piece of music, the audience isn't comfortable listening and if I really enjoy what I am playing, others can join in on the enjoyment.
I have heard that there is a rule of nature that states: "Unless acted upon by an outside force nothing moves without desire." My desire to practice comes from the outside force called Music. I want to make sounds I've heard because I enjoy being able to do that. I especially enjoy creating new sounds. When I can't get the sound I want, I stop practicing. Just like when I am full of my favorite food I stop eating.
