Haven't seen this model before, anyone have any idea of manufacturer, or could it be homemade? That headstock seems like a lot of trouble to go to if it is homemade. Recognise the pickup? I'm intrigued as to what this, any guidance is much appreciated
It looks similar, but not exactly like Sonnie's. Nut is not the same and there is no Schobel.
Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, 1953 Alamo Lap steel, (a gift from the late Stu Schulman) Recording King Phil Leadbetter Dobro, Roland Cube, Roland Mobile Cube, Fender Champion 40
I’d venture that the light coming through the window here is interacting with some grime on the lens.
On photos taken with phones, thats often the culprit. Always good to give a quick wipe before taking pics
Yes, keyless guitars are not for the faint of heart... I've had established players with keyed steelguitars pay me to string up their guitars. I have a friend the has a Sierra S12 keyless, and it's been down for almost a year because he is unable to string it up properly. The benefits I believe are seen with the smaller size of gust and the sustain in the guitar seems better.... my opinion. String tension, per note, seems tighter as well.
