Shobud Single Settings

Post by James R Foster »

Hi All,

Couldn't find anything on this specifically from the search.

Curious to know what settings folks are using for the ShoBud Single???

I've been using B-8, M-0, T-3.5 for my Stage One.

Thanks,

Rocky

Assuming you are referring to EQ settings ala Bass, MIddle, Treble, a lot depends on the electronics you are using such as the pickup, amp, speaker etc.

I don't know that there is a specific setting for single neck Sho~Buds since there are different eras and models of build.

Generally, most steel guitar players like a pretty robust bottom end, cut mids and slightly advanced highs but that varies with different players as well.

I think the most critical settings relate to the mid controls for most systems and players.

Your settings appear to be within the parameters that most players use.

Perhaps. Hard to tell without more info. If so, there was more than one single Sho~Bud amp. Further description in order.

I set just about every amp like a Fender Twin Reverb...except some of the Peaveys...

That said-Sho~Bud S-15:

Volume-depends on the situation
Bass-7
Middle-4
Treble-3 or 4(subject to change)
Reverb-4 or 5

All are subject to how my ears are working on any given day...

Hope this helps

Yes. That helps a lot. Sorry for the late response. I wasn’t getting any notifications on this post.

It is the Sho-Bud single channel amp with one 15” speaker. Don’t know the model or date but it is solid state. Looks like a Xmas tree but has a Fender BF style panel. About Xmas tree vintage.

Thanks!!

Good advice here, you should be good to go. The next thing is to practice with ths amp off until you can hear every note you play clearly without it. Once you can truly pick it like you mean it the tone controls will be easy to hear and sort.
