Year model of my Rains ??

Can anyone tell me the year model of my Rains if I give the serial number? btw where are the serial numbers located on Rains? Thanks

I had a Gary Carpenter 2010 D10. I don't know the serial numbers but the earliest Rains had full width cross shafts on the E9 neck. Gary's guitars and subsequent models had half shafts on E9 neck. Also Gary's guitars have " Rains by Gary Carpenter " decals on front. I believe Gary also changed the leverage to improve playing. JS

The serial number on my Rains is stamped on the bottom of the left end plate. Mine is D10 05 xxx, which I believe indicates 2005, as I was told it was a 2005 build. It has the short cross shafts and “ By Gary Carpenter” under the logo. I think my guitar had at one time belonged to your old buddy, Pete Walthall…
