That's one of my favorite songs to play on steel, but alas, I've never found a tab of the melody either, only chords. Thankfully he wrote the chord moves into the first verse....always thought that was brilliantly done.

Most of the tab websites have some version of it though.

Search youtube & you will find some performances of the song.

Willie Nelson's last album (produced by Ryan Adams) has a version that I wouldn't call definitive but it's nice. Jon Graboff plays steel thru it and does a wonderful job.
