My new CD

Post by Jim Cohen »

My new CD, "Finally Here" is expected to arrive this week, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. I'm pleased to say that it will be the second release on the "Steel Guitar Forum Records" label, and the CD will be available here on the Forum, as well as through various retailers. Those who pre-paid for their copies in St. Louis should have them shipped this week. I will also have them with me when I play at the steel guitar show in Waltham, Mass. on Oct 22.

Tunes on the CD include:

Desafinado
Tara's Theme
Secret Love
Java
Deep in a Dream
Hot-Tikvah
Someday Soon
Our Day Will Come
Finally Here

You can read more about it, and listen to some RealAudio selections, at my new website at www.jimcohen.com . If you stop by, please sign the guestbook!

Best wishes,
Jim
[This message was edited by Jim Cohen on 15 October 2000 at 06:17 AM.]

Is Hot Tikva a swing version of the Israeli
national anthem? (the Hatikva)

Well, Joel, it's an adaptation for sure, but it ain't swing. My nickname for this tune is "The Six Minute War". You'll have to check it out to know what the heck I'm talking about.

Our Day Will Come! Ruby and the Romantics? Too cool! Do you channel that cocktail lounge organ solo? I can hear it in my head as I write this. This I've got to hear.

Good question, Jon. In fact, dva asked me the same thing. The answer is, 'No, I did not choose to recreate that cheesy Farfisa organ sound.' But it's still a great tune!
Best,
Jim
