Guys ! He only says that he prefers local pickup. If you are interested in buying a Franklin I would go ahead and contact the guy. He has it listed for local sale also so this might be a chance to scoop one up. I don't know the guy at all but his listing is rather clear.

Yes, he says he prefers local pickup in his description, but under the shipping details he specified "Will arrange for local pickup only (no shipping)."

It would be a good idea to contact him before bidding. Under eBay rules he has the right to refuse to sell the guitar to a winning bidder if that winner is not local because he specified "no shipping" in his shipping instructions.

I think this is the first guitar I have ever seen with a sunburst finish on the underside(and mica on top). Somebody is going to be a happy camper.

Just remember the rule:

If it's not your guitar, I suggest you'd be better off posting this in the Pedal Steel section instead of in our Classified Ads.

nice steel...looking at the pics on the auction once again made me realize how similar the styles of the forefront steels at this time were. looks just like a zum or jch from this period...and close to the emmons legrande. these were the competition which led to the modern steel era. not sure much improvement has been made since then.

I haven't visited the forum in some time. I finally saw Theresa Galbraith's post re: my D12 Franklin. A short story...
I think it was 1987 when I asked Paul Sr. to build me a D12. He said "I don't build D12's", then he said, "wait, what color would you want?" I said black and he told me he had started a D12 in black Mica and never finished it. The body was under his bed. I told him to finish it and I'd buy it. I still have it, serial #111. It has 9 pedals and 9 knees on it. AND, 2 pickups on each neck!!!
