Making cds
I know I am showing my ignorance once again but here I go...I have bought a Zoom H1 recorder for several small chores I have to do at times. I am wanting to record my practice sessions and transfer to a cd and take the cd to my weekly lesson to have my teacher critique my playing. I also want to record my lesson and download the lesson to a cd to play as I practice etc.
I have recorded my playing and have opened a folder in my computer but cannot download the music to the cd. I thought that I might be using the wrong format and and switched from the wav to mp3 with no luck.
Any suggestions would be appreciated....jr

I don't know if Roxio will convert an MP3 to wav for "audio" CD burning. If you want a standard "Audio" CD and NOT an MP3 CD you may have to convert the MP3 to wav first.
But, in any case you copy whatever is on the recorder to the PC hard drive first and then make the CD from the file on the hard drive. you don't go direct from the recorder, through the PC to the CD burner drive.
I do a lot of support on the Dell users forum, but I haven't seen the latest Roxio V10 "DE" (Dell Edition)" and don't know how it is setup. In older Roxio versions you select "Create an Audio Disc" to make a standard audio CD and select your saved recorder file as the file to burn. It should have a separate function list for MP3 or you can just create a "Data Disc" and if the saved recorder file(s) is in MP3 format you can select that file(s) to burn.
When you create a standard "audio" CD, use standard CD-R blanks (not CD-RW and you don't need the more expensive "music" CD-R's). Keep the CD burning speed to 16X or lower (most new SATA burner drives will not go lower than 16X). If you burn it at the full speed of the CD burner it may not play in all standard audio CD players.
Although I too use Nero, there is no need to buy another CD/DVD burning program. The Roxio will serve your purpose.
