Facebook and Music Files?

Post by Chip Fossa »

Yet again,?

Is it even possible to post a music file [mp3] on FB?

(FB is so f*^%)$@ confusing...)

Just hooked up with someone, I thought was long gone. Would like to send her a few music files.

Please help; if possible?!?

Like the SGF, FB does not "host" music or video files. You can only link to them.
Post your file on youtube or some other hosting site and then link it to your fbook page

Bo,

I use Picosong. Could I post it to her page, instead, or send it in a message?

Don't post it to Facebook. Email it to her.

I just went through a "thing" with a music friend on Facebook. He wanted me to listen to an instrumental he posted to his account. He used an embedded 3rd party player application that would not let me play the music unless I agree to give it full access to my profile and contact list. I blocked the application and told him to email an mp3 to me and he complied.

Thanks Wiz,

I had a feeling about this. Now all I gotta do is see if she wants to send me her email address.

As I said, we're old friends [as in boyfriend/girlfreind] and was not exactly a smooth ride. It's been many years, so who knows.
At least she answered my "Hi" through FB. :\

If picosong is an file upload site.. then once it is uploaded they give you a link...you can either email her the link, or add the link to your fb page

or as Wiz says.. just attach the file (mp3 or whatever) and email it to her directly.. then she can decide what program to open it with..

I use a Facebook Application called Music. It creates a tab on your profile page. This link might take you to it:

http://apps.facebook.com/drowninthemusic/home.php

If not, try clicking the Facebook link in my signature below and go to my Music tab. There should be a link to the application there.

I rarely use Facebook apps - in fact I block most of them - but I've been using this one for a long time with no bad side effects.

Thanks Bo,

I think I'll just try it to my FB page and let her know it's there.

I've put up many Pico links here on the Forum, and it works quite well.

I'm just leery about FB on many fronts. That's all. :)

b0b,

I tried out the FB Music app you gave me links too. I had to 'add' it to my taskbar, but it worked real well [even tho an error flag said it wasn't uploaded correctly].

It played in Quicktime and the fidelity was quite good.

Thanks again, :)
