Running Two Operating Systems on a Mac?
I want to run two Operating Systems on a G-5: 9.1 and 10.4.
I have a G-4 Yikes OS 9.1 running Digi 001 with Pro Tools 5.1. I am getting a G-5 Dual w/ OS 10.4.
Pro Tools 5.1 will only run up to OS 10.1.
Can I install the G-4 Hard Drive in the G-5 in order to run Pro Tools 5.1 and have the option of booting up (1) the G-4 Hard Drive (OS 9.1) or the from (2) the G-5 Hard Drive OS 10.4?
Or is there any other work around?

Wow! Interesting. OS 9 is so old. The first thing that comes to mind is to buy a Mac with OS 9 real cheap off Craigslist and use it for this. You could probably run OS 9 in a virtual box, too. Then there's this: http://www.apple.com/support/macos9/

Here's a list of which machines can and cannot run System 9:

Thanks guys for info. My question wasn't clear. I was trying to combine two computers down to one. I went to Mac Authority - they said I couldn't hook the two hard drives up on the same computer. The problem is I don't want to reload my PT 5.1 and my Waves plug-ins due to reauthoriztion hassles with ancient software. I'll just have to run two computers. I'm reading through the links you provided. Many thanks.
