Jerry Reed

Post by Damir Besic »

I just found out that Jerry Reed has passed away some years ago, it just crushed me, I had an honor to play at the same open air concert with Jerry in Minnesota some years ago, probably around 1998-1999... and him and his band were great, he taught those boys to play his stuff and they did a great job, it sounded just like good ole Jerry Reed... this sad discovery really messed up my day ... he was one of the best, players and songwriters and his humor was second to none ... rest in peace guitar man and thank you for all the great music you made

I woke up at 4am this morning for some reason, and Smokey and the Bandit was on!
Nice.
Poor Jerry Reed got his ass kicked in a bar fight, then he drove over the guys Motorcycles with his 18-wheeler.
:D

Sally Fields was looking very nice in that picture.
Jackie Gleason was good in that one, too.

Jerry had THE best road band I EVER heard. This was around the mid to latter 80's if I remember correctly. Unfortunately (for me), Franklin was not with him at the time. These guys sound checked with a funk/jazz number that blew my socks off. The man definitely knew how to surround himself with great musicians!!!
