That is terrable news

One of my banjo hero's. The Dillards were a great bluegrass group and the timing couldn't have been better for a young aspiring banjo player at the time. Rest in peace Doug, you will always be rembered.

Terrible news indeed. The Fantastic Expedition Of Dillard And Clark is one of my favourite records.
May he rest in peace.

Sad story. :( Doug was a fun man to party with. I had no idea he was 11 years older than me, we all seemed ageless back in the day in Hollywood. Rest easy Doug.

Dillard & Clark. Fantastic stuff. Sad to lose another great one. Been a bad year for the music community.

RIP Doug. I still enjoy your music. And like Herb, I too, had no idea that you were 11 years older than me. I thought we were still ageless...

What a bummer. I really admired the Dillards and still listen to the records to this day. My sincere condolences to family, friends, and admirers.

Douglas was a classic, and truly a great promoter of the five string banjo. I was glad to have him as a friend and I'll miss him. I always wondered why some steel players made derogatory remarks on The Forum about banjo players, and then bothered to offer condolences when they'd learned they'd passed. Hmmmmmmmm.
