SWSGA 2018 Jody Cameron Seminar

Post by Jody Cameron »

I am pleased to announce that I will again be doing a seminar at the SWSGA show in Phoenix, January 2018. This will be different from last year’s course. This time we will focus on chord theory for the E9 tuning. The course is designed so that it will make sense to you even if you don’t have a strong background in music theory. In fact, it is aimed at folks who may need or want to improve their knowledge base in this area. Knowing a bit of chord theory can really help one “see” what is happening on the guitar as you play. We will NOT be reading music; only discussing and applying the nuts and bolts of what you really need to know to figure out any chord in a song, build chords, identify the function of your knee levers and pedals, recognize what each string’s function is at any given fret and pedal combination and more. This will be a “working man’s” theory class, a cut to the chase, no nonsense, “what’s REALLY important” class. Cost is $35, You may pre-register through the SWSGA, or you may register at the show. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Thank, Jody

I attended Jody's seminar on 'Using for the 9th String' back in the summer and I'll personally vouch for Jody's ability to explain theory in a way that will NOT bog you down. I'm sure this course will be just as useful and 'easy to digest'.. :-)

Plan on attending Jody's seminar at the SWSGA 2018. Has a date and time been set for this seminar? Also, what materials do we need to bring to the seminar, PSG, amp....? Thanks for info on these questions. Looking forward to the show and Jody's seminar.

Hi Bill! Maybe I can come back someday and do another one. I’m trying to get things to where I’m not on the road all the time like I was back then. Are you coming to AZ or TX?

I'd like to come to Texas as I've never been, but I can't stand going to these shows and not playing. I do need to come and see all my friends, so we'll see.

Who is this Jody Cameron I hear about?

All jokes aside.....Jody is the real deal. One of my coolest and closest friends in the world. He really knows the guitar as good as anyone I have ever met. And, a really nice guy, too. Spent a few band camp summers with the guy.

I may add, MSA really got a gem when they brought Jody on Board.
