SWSGA 2018 Show (Mesa, Arizona)

Post by Ray Harrison »

Getting geared up now for the final phase of preparation. Everything is coming together very well.

This year we have a larger number of vendors attending that in the past. At present we have, MSA, Mullen, Sierra, Infinity and GFI for steel guitars and our great Telonics room will always be a meet and greet place.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, please look me up and let's visit..

I got in too big a rush with my posting about our vendors and omitted to list our own local builders; Justice Steel Guitars and Desert Rose, who will also be attending..

Please accept my apologies for this grave transgression.

Finally, my first mistake...

Same place as 2017?

Post by David Rupert »

The website states, it will be at the same venue, as last year?

I hope that isn't true!

It's a terrible place for a show, unless they changed things.

It was like spinal tap (backstage scene), getting to the room where the music was. Everyone was complaining about it.

Maybe I was too sober, but I didn't have any trouble finding the music, or anything else. And I didn't hear anybody complaining about it either.

Maybe I was there at an odd time??

It was a different scene, than any previous SWSGA show. It's most likely been rectified. I was sober too, Ernest.

Last year, due to a mix-up, we had to shuttle between the main room and a bar/club type room for the evening shows. The bar room was downstairs and a little out of the way, but it was actually pretty cool. Since it was like a club, everybody kinda felt right at home.

I'm not at all upset with SWSGA, it's the hotel that myself & others were not happy with. From what I've heard, there was a scheduling conflict. The hotel accommodated the other party, inside of SWSGA, who had the hotel booked for much longer than them. Not fair to SWSGA, its members, or the people attending this great show that happens only once a year. I look forward to this every year...as many others do too. I'm sure it's been recifified, & will be smooth sailing this year.

David we look forward to seeing you this coming year. Everything has been worked out for this show to run smoothly. The hotel has worked with us very closely to insure another great SWSGA show.
