An Appreciation of Frank Freniere

Post by Jim Fogarty »

It seem that most every time I come looking for tabs of GREAT, classic steel parts from the best tunes, invariably the one who did one is Frank Freniere.

Just tonight, I was listening to Roger Miller's wonderful "A Trip In The Country" and wondering if anyone here had tabbed any of Buddy's iconic steel parts.

I did a search, and sure enough........Frank has posted a good chunk of them. As usual, they're pretty damned accurate and easy to read.

Maybe our tastes just line up, but I think he's an amazing resource to the steel community.

So, thanks Frank. I don't know you, but if we ever meet, I owe you a beer........or twenty.

Frank hasn't posted here since about five weeks, Maybe he's taking a break. But still I worry a little about him.

I saw him on one of the Facebook steel tab pages, last week. He posted a transcription of Buddy's original "Nightlife"
