North Texas Southern Oklahoma Steel Jams

Post by Paul King »

I am in the process of lining up some steel guitar jams. I have one lined up today with four steel players. They will be held at a nice facility in a clean atmosphere. The next one is August 26th and is filling quickly. Any steel players interested can contact me or post here. Four to five steel players at a time is what I prefer but am willing to allow more. Today we will even have a newspaper editor playing drums and they will be taking pictures and interviews. They are going to write a story and put it in their newspaper. That will give some exposure to steel guitar around this area for sure.

We had the first jam July 21st and it was fun. Next month David Wright, Skip Pilgrim and Dennis Bailey will join in on the jam. There will be more scheduled if anyone is interested.

We had one Saturday outside of Gainesville,Texas. It would definitely be North Texas or Southern Oklahoma depending on who willlet us use their facility. We had four steel players this time and it worked ok.

Skip Pilgrim had to cancel due to his playing schedule. I am searching for another seasoned player for August 26th. There will be more jams lined up in the next few months. Four to five at a time is what I prefer. Anyone interested send me an email through the forum.

Thanks Mr. Greenway for getting the room for all of us. You are certainly a friend and good player as well. And you will even help guys out when their car breaks down.

I have put together a "Show And Tell" jam October 13th. Currently I have about 5 players but have room for a couple more. We will play and if someone likes something another player plays we will take the time and let that individual show how it was done. The location will be Lake Kiowa,Texas southeast of Gainesville,Texas which is about an hour north of Dallas on I35. Anyone interested can reply here or send me a message through the forum.

I want to be there for that one. You have some licks that I want.

Curtis Houge has some licks I want from him too.

I’ll see you October 13th at Lake Kiowa.

Thanks Paul. This will be fun.

Thank you Mark for getting the room for us. For that I will let you in for free. Seriously, no one pays anything to join us.
