Understanding Tabs

Post by Alan Red »

I have a tab for Amazing Grace and sometimes when 2 notes are played on same fret, same string the first notes appears smaller in size than the second, also I noticed that when using A and B pedals sometimes there is not fret number beside one or the other could someone explain this please?
Example
5A
B

I can't explain the first question, but I think the answer to the second question is that, to keep the page less cluttered, they just left the fret number off of where it shows the B pedal being used. In other words, I think the second example, fully written-out, would be:

5A
5B

...I presume the 5A is being shown on the 5th string and the "B" is on the 6th string, so probably meaning 5B on the 6th string. Does it sound right played that way?
