There's A Tree In The Meadow

Post by George Rout »

I play at a weekly jam and try to play different music each week. I bring CHARTS of the chords, but still it's best if the music is somewhat familiar. Here's a TAB very popular in 1948 (l was 10 years old) taking Hawaiian guitar lessons in Halifax. Many of my lessons, which I still have, were the Hit Parade of the day, and There's A Tree In The Meadow was very popular. Sung originally by Dorothy Squires in that year, and by many others such as, Margaret Whiting, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and in latter years by Marty Robbins, Connie Francis, The Letterman etc.

The TAB is A Major Low Bass tuning, (hi to lo)
E C# A E A E.

CE, you probably have played this, it's in your era!!!!!

"I play in the A Major tuning. It's fun to learn and so easy to play. It's as old as the hills....like me"
