Go ahead and book elsewhere. Lots of hotels nearby. Some within walking distance. Others, only a short drive.

Hi Karen, It is pointed out in the Texas Steel Guitar Association news letter that if the Sheraton is full to check the overflow hotel, Doubletree Hilton at: 972, 929-8181. They are just across the hi-way and have a shuttle service to and from the Sheraton. Parking is very hard to come by at both location's so if you find a site when you arrive do not leave it. Also when you call tell them that you are attending the T.S.G.A. at the Sheraton and I think they have a special rate also. It is a great show and this year should be even greater. I am looking forward to it. Cheers, J.R. Rose

I tried to book a room the first day the notice was posted on the forum, even then it said there were no rooms available.

I would suggest the Holiday Inn Express....it's just a few minute walk, you don't have to cross the highway, and they have a decent breakfast.....

I stay at the DoubleTree. I actually like it better. Same rates I believe.

Albert said in the TSGA newsletter this summer that the Sheraton was full up. I was in Grapevine visiting my daughter and house hunting and had some time to kill so i just went by the Sheraton to check, they had rooms so i got my reservation. Moral of the story is to check for yourself, CYA. It might be too late now, just call and check.
