"Nature Will Have Her Way" (Slide Man Slim & Penny Hanna)

Post by Slim Heilpern »

Wow, I was able to talk Penny into singing another one of my songs! Our latest single "Nature Will Have Her Way" is a breezy jazz-pop bossa nova with a comic but dire warning for humanity.

Listen or download (free) here: https://slimandpenny.com/web/articles/N ... HaveHerWay

Penny: vocal, double bass, viola da gamba section, alto sax

Slim: nylon, archtop, and pedal steel guitars, chromatic
harmonica, keyboards, drum & percussion programming

Slim, I can't find enough words of praise on how splendid this musical piece sounds. All the instruments, vocals and lyrics are spectacular. You and Penny are such a talented and creative couple. I love the Bossa Nova feel and overall vibe of the tune. Great job all around.

Thanks so much for listening and commenting Larry! I know everyone's time is precious, and there's so much great music to listen to out there... But it's comforting to know that our efforts are being heard and appreciated by at least a few :-).

A friend of mine sent me this a couple days ago. Slim, you and Penny are true artists. This is an amazing piece. I am so used to jazz tunes being relatively safe in their lyrical content, hearing one with a profound sociopolitical/environmentally conscientious message juxtaposed on an almost carefree sounding melody feels like a unique experience. The video and musicianship are also equally masterful. Very well done!
