Help with National New Yorker Lap Steel

Hi, I just purchased this New Yorker 7 string lap steel manufactured in 1938 I believe. I love the guitar and it's in amazing condition apart from the fretboard has moved while it was in transit and I'm wondering the best way to move it back in line. Any help is appreciated!

The good news is... the bakelite pieces with the screws in them don't seem to be damaged. The fretboard has slid to the side and it's probably just a matter of sliding it back into place. Not sure how it's held down though.

Notice the wiring under the fretboard. There is a "hidden pickup" under the fretboard.

If you can't figure it out, you might take it to a good guitar repair shop. They should know what to do.

Looks like the portion of the fretboard that is nearest to the bridge has moved. The edge of the pickup that Doug mentioned is peeking out.

That should be an easy fix.

Thanks for the replies, I'm taking it to my guitar guy next week, I've also noticed that on the harp setting the 3 bass strings don't work, could that be the hidden pick-up under the fretboard?

Yes it could be wiring or just that the switch is worn. The contacts can spread out which is easy to fix. The fretboard is bakelite, I think, and a bit fragile. I had an 8 string like this years ago and I cracked the fretboard in my hamhanded attempts at taking it apart so be careful.
