Played in public for the first time today!
I’ve been learning pedal steel for right at two months now and practicing 1-2 hours at least 4-5 nights a week. Today I played two songs in church with a friend of mine on acoustic and thankfully it went pretty good! It felt good to do it for the first time and I had several people come up to me afterwards and say they enjoyed it.
I’ve been using Freeman Arthur’s online course and it’s been such a great tool to get me started on steel. I’m not new to playing music, but knew next to nothing about steel and he does a great job at making it easy to understand. Looking forward to learning more and having fun with it!

Congrats! My guess is you learned more in one day playing live, than in a week in your home. The first time out is the hardest.
One of the best pieces of advice for new players I have read on here was (speaking about playing live) "If you wait until you are ready, you never will be".

Many play better than I do. Nobody has more fun.
