Work needed on MSA in the NEast

Hi - a friend of mine has an MSA guitar. He was wondering if there is someone in the northeast that works on them. Also any ideas as to the year. I’d guess mid 70’s?

Check with Dave Grafe on the forum. I've had him work on all my guitars and is really good with fair prices.

Thats an MSA Classic SS.. Somewhat different from MSA Classic guitars as it does not utilize an aluminum frame. Pull parts mount directly into the wood body , and they are narrower underneath than a standard MSA.. I live in NY state and have owned played and worked on MSA guitars for many decades including the SS guitars.. Lots of other guys here in the NE can work on them as well,, they are not difficult.. I think I still have some MSA pull parts around as well. It might help if you let us know exactly what you need done.. Some of us on the forum might be able to walk you through it without taking or shipping the guitar anywhere.. Looks like you are up close to Lake Champlain.. Thats a 4-5 hour ride from here, or the Hudson Valley... You can PM me and maybe I can help you fix the guitar yourself, before spending any money on it... bob

Hi Bob, thanks for the info. It’s a friends guitar. I have not had a chance to look at it yet but plan to to see if it’s something I can remedy. If it’s too involved (eg pulling the changer and cleaning or replacing parts) we’ll definitely give you a shout.

Yes we are are up lake Champlain way but don’t have a problem with that drive. Straight shot south.
