A company making Sho~Bud's again?
Just curious.
Is there a new company making Sho~Bud's again?
I saw this video and the steel she is playing looks very little like the Sho~Bud's of old!...

Thanks Brad,
Guess I've been out of it for a little too long.
Looks like Jackson's have gotten back the Sho~Bud name, Wonderful.

Some how Jackson Steel Guitar Co. Got the Copy Rights to the Sho-Bud logo back from Baldwin, Or whoever had the Copy Rights. They have announced that Sho-Bud guitars will be back.
I read some where, That the Jackson steel is where the Sho-Bud would have progressed to over the years, And now it will legally get the Sho-Bud name displayed on it.

This isn't all too surprising as its been a trend for some time in the industry with brands names that were in limbo not being used after being sold off to larger brands. Dave Smith got the Sequential Circuits name back before he passed and the newer Prophet 5 synthesizer reissues bare the Sequential name instead of Dave Smith Instruments. A similar thing happened with Moog when Bob Moog regained it in the early 2000s.Bobby D. Jones wrote: 16 May 2025 12:12 pm Some how Jackson Steel Guitar Co. I want to know if I can send my Jackson Maverick HD in to get the Sho-Bud name put on it
It's a Sho-Bud (formerly Jackson) Maverick HD, pull-release changer, 3x4. I think they are about $3k new these days.Andy DePaule wrote: 16 May 2025 9:46 am Just curious.

I have a late 2020 model and it's a great guitar although it was almost $1K cheaper when I got it. Inflation is wrecking the steel market. I'm glad I got started when I did.
Here's mine. Here's the 10 string copedant.

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

Re: A company making Sho~Bud's again?
Dawn Jackson and her brother Will got the Sho-Bud name back from Gretsch. As of now, Sho-Bud actually builds two pedal steel guitar models, the Pro V and the Maverick II, I'm sure there will be more models in the future. According to an article I read recently, Dawn described the new Sho-Bud as the Jackson Steel era of Sho-Bud. The Maverick II isn't a model just for beginners, it's a pro steel guitar designed for steel guitar players of all levels. These new Sho-Buds are a tribute to Shot Jackson and his contributions to the pedal steel guitar and country music history.

The steel player in the video is Andrea Whitt. She plays the new Sho-Bud Maverick II.Andy DePaule wrote: 16 May 2025 9:46 am Just curious.

Re: A company making Sho~Bud's again?
One thing you will notice on www.sho-bud.com is, they have a lot of great things to say about the new Sho-Bud Maverick II. What's really awesome is, it's a pedal steel guitar for players of all levels, not just new steel players because in one part it says that if it's played in a studio, producers will love its' sound and tone. I'm really wanting to try out the Maverick II to experience the sound and tone they're talking about. I've heard one being played in several videos now, and it sounds amazing! During my 25 years as a steel guitarist, I've never really played a Sho-Bud, so now that Sho-Bud is back, I really want to play one! And, not only do I love the Sho-Bud steel, I love my friends who are now building them-David, Harry, Dawn, and Will Jackson!
