Re: Redd Volkaert Plays & Sings "Hello Walls" And More
I love this trio. Simple set up with Redd doing most of the singing and all the guitar work. I've been following Redd since way back in the 90s or maybe earlier when he was with the Hag. Also saw him a time or two with Big Jim Murphy somewhere or other.
He's an amazing picker and musician. Just a well rounded player. Note the mellow, jazzy style on some of these tunes but he can also hammer on the classic Tele chicken pickin' stuff as good as any of them. Check out his album Telewacker if it's still available anywhere.
I don't know if he still does, but he used to play some pedal steel too as I sold him a bar several years ago.
This little spot in VA. where these videos are shot seems like a great place to visit and hear some great music too. Yeah, I've spent a few hours watching videos from this Floyd Country Store deal. Thanks Chris for the reminder.

This is really great. Only missing a pedal steel. Just imagine someone like Ricky Davis sitting in on a classic Sho-Bud.

Per, Redd loves pedal steel and has done performances with many steel pickers. Check out the sidebar on the youtube videos for some of them.
I'm enjoying just his guitar fills and leads in these Floyd Country Store videos. I think those are just perfect. That's a great little trio there.
