I have purchased CDs by these four gentlemen, and if you like western swing and shuffle music, these guys are wonderful! Each of the CDs has been recorded within the last year and feature great steel work by Gary Carpenter, Steve Palousek, Ricky Price, and Dicky Overbey and fiddle work by Reggie Rueffer and Bobby Flores. I have been fortunate enough to see these great Texas players at various spots-mostly Fort Worth and these CDs bring back memories of their fantastic performances. Johnny Bush wrote the liner notes for Justin's latest CD and he states that he made 3 predictions for greatness: Willie Nelson, Charlie Pride, Johnny Rodriguez. He says his fourth prediction for superstardom is Justin Trevino. Cant get much of a better endorsement than that ! I purchased all of these at ET's record shop in Fort Worth, but I am sure there are other outlets for them as well. I highly recommend them to be added to your collection !

The following showed up on the hillbilly yahoo list

Dearest Hillbillies:

We've just returned from a month in Italy and --boom-- tomorrow
we leave for Justin Travino's place down in Martindale Texas.

My husband, Bob Moore, has excepted some session work with Jake
Hooker. Bob is thrilled to be cutting some more Western Swing.

Mercy... what is it with this Western Swing bug that twists his
sense of perspective?! I said, "Bobby, we can't drive to Texas!
We have to be back here in Nashville on the 17th for the grand
opening of the Country Music Hall of Fame. It's the event of the
season!"

He says, "Well, they ain't all that interested in my attending and
these guys down in Texas want me to play with them."

You know what the problem with a musician? The MUSIC! It get's em.
Team player. No sense of self promotion, glamour, public relations or
politics. This is why the Country Music HOF has Harold Bradley's
photo on display as an important historic musician (not Grady's or
Garland's mind you..) and Henry Strelecki's bass is on display. Aargh!

To Bob Moore it's like, "Hey, I've already done my 18,000 sessions
and played on 500 top 10 hits. If they don't get it by now, they
never will."

What's a girl to do?

Well, I guess --- I'll Go to Texas!
