Movie review "Songcatcher"

Post by Mike Perlowin RIP »

YOU GOTTA SEE THIS FILM! It's not only a wonderful movie, but the music is fantastic. Like the earlier "Oh Brother Where Art Though," this film features authentic recreations of the old timey music of the southern appalachians from the early 20th century.
This is real music, played by real people. Not like the manufactured stuff we hear today. This music has real substance and real soul. It is the root music from which country evolved.
I hope this film and "Oh Brother" will spark some interest in traditional music. They say things come in cycles. A resurgence in interest in this music is long overdue.

Thanks Mike, it's one I'm keen to see.
It got a great review on 'The Movie Show' on PBS here, and what I saw looked great.
