Opry on CMT a little better

Post by Leigh Howell »

Well, the opry was better tonight on CMT. The interviews seemed shorter, but I still think there are too many of them. Plenty of good steel playin! All in all, I enjoyed the show. They need a good ole country girl hosting though! Image

I really enjoyed the Opry Sat nite, altho i'm not a die-hard bluegrasser,I thought the guys with Ricky Skaggs were really great,
and what can you say about Steve Wilkerson and Stu Basore !!
I kinda agree with the long interviews and the lady that seems to not know what to say next, I'll give her a chance,
And I nominate Theresa G for the job if it doesn't work out for her.

Obviously you need a host just to make sure the program has some continuity but this young lady who does the interviews is as green as unprocessed corn; it sounds as though the questions are being read to her as she does her interviews. If I hear about the sacred circle of wood from the old Opry once more I'm gonna hurl. She should be reduced by about three minutes thus freeing up time for another song. This aside I think it is a an improvement and CMT seems to be trying to do the right thing...Pete
