I have heard many references to a recording called "It's the first time" with many of my hero's on it Speedy West,Julian Tharpe,Buddy Emmons,Jimmy Day,Hal Rugg,Lloyd Green,Reece Anderson,Curley Chalker,and Doug Jernigan. If anyone has Information on how to obtain this recording please post it or e-mail me

Robert,
I have a very poor quality and very old cassette "copy" of the album you speak of. I wish I had the original! What a great album! Every steel player under the sun "blowin'" solo's. I think the album was just Jimmy Bryant, a drummer, and a bass player, and all them steel pickers! Not many songs on it but a lot of great playin' for sure!

Maybe someone has a good album copy! Like, maybe some of you pickers who played on that album? Image

Dave Burley is the guy who produced the LP. He has posted here about looking for a copy of the LP in good condition to make into a CD. Here's one thread: Dave Burley Thread
