what's this song?

Post by Joe Delaronde »

Looking for info on an older song which has the words
"If the world keeps on turning", or maybe that's the name of the song.

I know the tune, but can't remember the words or who sang it.
Maybe Eddy Arnold?
Thanks
Joe

..is this the one?..

------------------------------------------

I'LL KEEP ON LOVING YOU
Tillman

If the world keeps on turning as I'm sure it's bound to do
Then I'll keep on loving you
If the dawn comes tomorrow and we know that it is true
Then I'll keep on loving you

CHORUS:
What if things change, the sky would fall the dawn would come
The world would stall
I wouldn't care as long as you're near
It wouldn't matter to me at all

If the stars stay in heaven and the moon stays in the blue
Then I'll keep on loving you

If I ever should lose you then I know just what I'll do
I'll just keep on loving you
You are heaven to me dear you are every dream come true
And I'll keep on loving you

(REPEAT CHORUS)

Life is so sweet when you are near I couldn't do without you my dear
I'll love you so I want you to know I think of you wherever I go

I will always be faithful and I'm sure that you will too
And I will keep on loving you

....I also saw it covered on a Jerry Lee Lewis album...

...and Earnest Bovine is going to cover it in a session next week, but he doesn't know it yet...
[This message was edited by Pat Burns on 19 January 2002 at 07:26 PM.]

Joe,
Hank Thompson also had this song out years ago. And I think it was Pee Wee Whitewing or Bobby Garrett on steel. It didn't sound like Bob White's playing.

The one error is in the first chorus, second line: "the dawn won't come"

Great song.
