It's not what you think, Gordon. It's a cheesy disco number complete with "Whoo whoos" and a stupid dance.

Here's the chart:

1 2m (in perpetuity).

I believe it is a dance style of song, not a particular song, which line dancers request.

..Fred, it's both...it's a particular disco line-dance style of dance, and the one song "Electric Slide" to which it is danced...I don't think it has "whoo whoo's", but it does have "boogie-oogie-oogies" in it..it is most often requested immediately before or immediately after "The Macarena"..

NOTE: At least in the northeast, this is a female only dance, men NEVER do the electric slide, except for the D.J...

In Dallas EVERYBODY was doing the Electric Slide a few years ago. When I was playing the Dance clubs over there, we had to play that thing at least 3 times a night. Cheesy is right. What a waste of time.

Gordan, If you get a request a number that they can dance the "Electric Slide" to, just play Dwight Yokum's "Maybe Someday I'll Be Strong". They do the Slide to that one.

PS>>>
Formerly Jim Miller on the Forum. I have so many queries about a Jim Miller that someone has seen at a steel show some where that I have gone to my given name and the name that I am known as around my playing area.
I guess there are a lot of Jim Millers out there in steel land. This didn't bug me all that much but I hate that folks waste their time asking me, and I can't help them.
My given name is Jimmy Dale Miller so I use the name Jimmy Dale when performing.
