He gave an awesome concert. Two and a half hours of pure joy.
I sure wish I have that kind of energy when I
reach 69. I hadn`t realized he was such a great guitar player - he really leaves a lot of the young guys way behind in his dust.
One thing I missed though - STEEL GUITAR!
(And maybe a couple of fiddles
)It is really a pity his distaste for the Nashville scene/sound makes him avoid this great instrument.
A steel would have fit in just nicely.
Hey, he has a Floyd Cramer sound-alike on
piano and a Chalie McCoy ditto on harmonica,
why not add Lloyd Green clone on stage??
Otherwise, you can all be proud af this last
of the Great Ones.
If you get the chance - go hear him.
