Daryle Singletary

Post by Geoff Cole »

I haven't heard any comments on this album on the forum and was wondering why?.
With so many people lamenting the demise of true country music I feel this album should be the shot in the arm we have all been waiting for.
Steel and fiddle all over it.
I feel the outstanding track among a dozen outstanding tracks is 'I don't go around mirrors' an old Lefty tune.
The ride Mike Johnson does on this song is just superb and has to be right up there with John's' Look at us'.
Why don't they make country music like this any more ?.
This for me is just the perfect country C.D.

Check the archives for several mentions of this album.

I put it on my top 10 and praised my radio station who did play 2 cuts.

One of my favorite records this year...Vintage country with modern sonics and killer playing (way to go Mike Johnson Image).

Best country recording of the year, IMO. Great vocals. super steel by Mike and Rhonda Vincent on backup vocals and duet

This has been talked about on the forum, and the whole CD blowes me away, one of the best to be released in a long while.
And the reason Radio don't play it,,its Real Country,,,keep it up Mike Johnson !!!!

It's probably my favorite listening Cd in quite some time along with the Ray Price "Time" CD which is a killer with Buddy Emmons all over it; There has been a lot of comment on both of these on the forum earlier...a must for country music lovers with plenty of great steel.

I'm sorry I didn't see the previous threads relating to this album, I work away a lot and can't always get access to the wonderfull forum.
Maybe this album is what Bill Anderson is refering to in his song " TOO COUNTRY".
