POSING NUDE on YOUR next CD?
Perhaps steel guitarists should take a tip from the "DIXIE CHICKS".... If its' ok to promote your "music", album or CD, by posing nude for the cover, just think of the potential for some of you upward bound, mobile, deep thinking, steel guitar pickers.
I caint help but wonder if the stupid remark hadn't been made by their lead singer, would they have felt it was really necessary to shed their clothes? Huhmmmmm?

I don't think that nude steel players are a pretty site. I think Joe Goldmark got the right idea, though:

I would really question if the Dixie Chicks really posed for the nude photo. With today's computer technology it is too easy to use body doubles. I support my theory by looking at the nude photo of Natalie it's not the right body shape for her.
I know a photographer who did the same thing with a photo he had taken of himself with the Chicks at fanfair a few years ago. When he was done with the computer alterations, he was posing with nude Dixie Chicks. It was quite convincing.

I'd like to know the story behind Joe's cowgirls... um... maybe I'd better rephrase that. Behind Joe's cowgirls is bound to be a nice story... no, that's not quite right, either. Hmmm... Anyway, who the heck are they, how did he get them to do this photo shoot, and do they have any younger sisters who'd like to build upon this excellent precedent for my upcoming album?

Jason,
you absolutely right! Here in America we do have the right to our opinions, but...
along with it should also be the wisdom to know when to express it...especially when you're in the public eye and depend on it for your future prosperity.
Sometimes it is just better to keep your right of opinion to yourself. All them people down in Louisianna and other places who burned, stomped, and otherwise defaced their "Dixie Chicks" CD's after Natalie's remark might still have been playing them today, as well as buying them.
Decide for yourself...freedom to express unwisely your opinion, or keep it to yourself and enjoy the pleasure of record sales?)
Just my humble and possibly "unwise" opinion.

In my opinion, I think the only way out of the Chicks tailspin, would be, a Summit meeting with Toby Keith and Natalie Maines, airing their differences and culminating in a big group hug. Toby is the only one who can resurrect their career with his endorsement of their right to free speech, but first, the Chicks must be willing to approach Toby's people about such a meeting. Toby Keith is in the drivers seat, maybe not on a worldwide scale, but definitley in the Country music world. IMHO
