proud dads
I would just like to be proud for a minute of my oldest son, Jim, who plays lead guitar for Javier Mendoza band, in St. Louis. He got to open Sat.for Los Lobos under the arch in St. Louis, 20,00 plus in attendance! What a great feeling! Any other proud pops? JimP

When our precious Savior gave my wife and I our only son, he gave a blessing that words are inadaquate to describe. I will leave that for you to ponder.
But Jesus also did something more. He gave to this wonderful son, something I never had. And that is musical talent. As I am sure many of you can do, ny dearly beloved son can sit unassumedly, and simply play (on lead guitar) ANY thing he hears without so much as looking or trying.
It tears me up. I am the gabber he is the doer. He epitomizes the ole saying,
"he didn't know it could not be done, so he went ahead and done it!"
Our Lord giveth and he taketh away. In my son's case he gave it. And there are few things on this earth that could have ever made this dad prouder.
May Jesus bless this man's Son and bring him joy untold, and may he nurture this awesome gift all of his life, and of course as always, may Jesus richly bless all of you,

Im a proud dad AND grandad. My son of 23 years is the youngest licensed private investigator that his firm has ever had and is in training for Lead Investigator there. He always was a sneaky little dood and now he gets paid for it.
I have two grand daughters and one grandson that Im proud of as well. My grandson (Garrett) is my youngest daughters son and he's only two years old but he lights up the whole room when he grins. Cotton headed as can be with big blue eyes and dimples so big you can sink your finger in there. I bought him his first guitar a few weeks ago. A cheapo acoustic that he can knock around with no problem. He drags that thing around every where he goes and when music comes on he lays it in his lap and plays it like a lap steel. I think maybe "Its" in his blood.

I guess I need to add to this thread, and since it's a music topic I'll dwell mostly on that.
My son Cole, age 20, is absolutley kicking a** on the guitar!!!! What started out as heavy metal, has now evolved into classical, jazz, and fingerstyle acoustic alternate tunings etc. I'm so proud of him, but I'm a little worried that he's "doomed" like I was. Luckily he's going to school and is even very close to getting his pilot's license.
He just HAS IT (musically speaking)....and that's a little scary for me since I know full well what a tough life it is. At any rate, he seems to have avoided many of the pitfalls that I went through at his age.
For that I'm also extremely proud!
....and he's been showing a little interest in the PSG lately too....I'm holding my breath.

I'm a proud dad too. My son's band just released their first CD "Make Your Move". They are a Christian Rock band named "Unbound". They gig alot and sell tons of merch. They have totally done everything on their own. I helped them do some tracking for their CD. I fix their/my guitars and amps they tear up. But I love it. Their website is: www.unboundband.com
