New Freddie Hart-CD
Bear Family Records in Germany released a new CD with early reordings by Freddie Hart - this is a good record that shows Freddie way ahead of his smash hit "Easy Loving" in the early 70's.
The recordings cover the whole spectrum from classic Hillbilly to Rockabilly, some Easy Listening as well as classic Country.
On Steel: Pee Wee Whitewing, Noel Boggs, Marian Hall, Johnny Siebert, Wayne Burdick, Jimmy Day and Pete Drake!
Check it out under www.bear-family.de
Kind Regards, Walter

Is "Drink Up and Go Home" on that CD? I always liked that tune. Freddy was a great stylist and also a pretty rough dude in real life. I saw him in a TV interview once where he'd been hired to teach Martial Arts to Police Officers so there was more to him that being a singer.......JH

Walter, when "Drink Up and Go Home" came out I was in high school in Imperial, California. In the pool hall we all hung out at on the juke box they had that song. The first time I heard it I loved it. Remember those words:
I'm fresh out of prison,
Six years in the pen.
Lost my wife and family,
No one to call friend.
Don't tell me your troubles,
Got enough of my own.
Be thankful you're living,
Drink up and go home......
This was at the time when Bill Haley and the Comets, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino and all those guys were having their big hits. Well, we were all teenagers and played Freddy's record right along with the rockers of the day and everyone sang along with it. I think Freddy was also the composer of "Loose Talk" which I believe was a hit for Faron Young....Have a good 'un, JH

Yes, Freddie wrote "Loose Talk", probably the most recorded song he ever wrote. Carl Smith recorded it, so did Cowboy Copas, Buck Owens, Carlene Carter,...)
