Source for NOS pots by year of manufacture?

As seen on TV... ahem.. I mean right here on the Non-Pedal Forum, I have recently become the proud owner of a 1934 (yes, I have positive ID on the year!) Rickenbacher A-22 "Frying Pan" lap steel, that I am currently restoring.

The volume pot that is presently in the guitar is coded 73 (1973), which disturbs me to the point that I could not play the darn thing... Picky, picky, picky..., I know... but well, it also does not seem to work too well.

<ul>[*]First, what is the value needed for a volume pot on a 1.5" horse-shoe pick-up?

[*]Then, is there a known and specialised source for NOS pots by the vintage (by the year of manufacture). In other words a place where you can buy a pot of the correct value and made in 1934...

And then, how do you know if the one you get, really is "1934", when for those old ones only had one digit year codes ("4" in this case)?[/list]

For any kind of NOS stock, try Angela's Instruments--- http://www.angela.com/ . They have everything and are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I've looked them up. I'll probably have to call them, as they don't seem to list the pots by the year of manufacture...
Anyway, I still need to know the value I need for a volume pot only configuration with a wide horse-shoe pick-up.
I don't know, but does the impedance of the pick-up play a decisive role when coosing the matching voulme pot?
I'd guess that the old Rick horseshoe pick-up were, what today is regarded as low impedance(?).

250 K linear,You can order from Tech_America
Clarostat, They are making the same pot. as Allen
that were used in the early days,If you are replacing Fender amp pots you use audio-Taper.
You can order from the Internet.
