A friend gave me a 12" JBL speaker that is a D-131. Does anyone know what kind of application this speaker was designed for? I'm going to put it in a cabinet and see how it sounds.

Hi Bob, I used to own one of those
speakers. It came in a Fender Showman
cabinet with the tone ring, so I guess
it ought to work ok for guitar or steel.

Hi Jerry, Thanks for the reply. I'm familiar with the Fender Showman but I'm not sure what the tone ring is. I haven't had a chance to try the speaker yet, but maybe I'll have time this weekend.
