Session 500 settings

Post by tim duvall »

Hi guys,
I'm playing out of a session 500 and was wondering if anyone would like to post their favorite settings for your session 500.

Hi Tim:
I'm using a 500, I use the 3 cable configuration. The settings I use are:
Pre gain - 2-3
Post gain - 7
Low +12
Paramid -8
Shift 800 - 900
High +3
Presence +6
Reverb 5-6

I tweak these settings depending on where I'm playing. Also I've installed the LeMay mod kit into the amp.

John,
could you tell me what the mod did for the amp? I've been thinking about getting one but really am sortof in the dark about what the mod actually does.

My settings are the same as John's but I don't use the 3 cable system.

The LeMay mod kit improved the tone of the amp quite a bit. It got rid of the harshness of the high end frequencies, and made the low end a little crisper. The most obvious change though that I noticed right away was the increase in tonal separation. I was quite happy with the results, and it was not difficult to install.
